EFFECT Sites: Durban and Pietermaritzburg

There are two EFFECT sites in Kwazulu-Natal: Harry Gwala Hospital in Pietermaritzburg under PI Dr Douglas Wilson and King Edward Hospital under the PI Prof Yunus Moosa and associated with UKZN.

Dr Isabella Fatti is the trial Medical Officer at Harry Gwalla and Dr Lia Edkins the MO at KEH along with support from Drs Nkosi Nxumalo at HGRH and Tappie Cairns and Bernadett Gosnell at KEH.

Sr Shirley Lebenya and Ntwenhle Sithole are the trial nurses at the sites with pharmacy cover provided by Mrs Juane van der Merwe and Mr Ayanda Ndlela at HGRH and the CAPRISA pharmacy team at King Edward.
